Adonde Media is a global podcast production company that offers services and resources to create podcasts with high quality sound and compelling, multi-lingual storytelling. Since its founding in 2017, Adonde Media has offered award-winning audio visual storytelling that builds connections between its brands and listeners no matter the language because the company has built their team to be as international as the podcasts they produce.

History

Adonde Media was founded in 2017 by American journalist, editor, and producer Martina Castro as a part of the Start Up Chile incubator program.[1] After recognizing the limited interest and resources for podcast production outside of the English language, Martina developed Adonde Media with a global approach to the podcast medium.[1]

In 2017, Adonde Media began their first project working alongside Duolingo to develop the Spanish Podcast. The podcast was developed with a new format designed to teach a language through audible storytelling.[1] Within two weeks of the launch of the first season in 2018, The Duolingo Spanish Podcast reached #1 on Apple Podcasts.[2] Duolingo has expanded their language learning series to French and English.[3] [4]Since its launch Adonde Media has worked with clients like TED (conference), Spotify, Vice News, Netflix, Sony and Georgetown University.[5]

Awards & Achievements

Many of Adonde's podcasts have reached significant achievements and awards. Following the success of the Spanish Podcast, Duolingo's French Podcast hit #2 on Apple's overall rankings and #1 podcast in the UK during release of the first season. In 2017, Adonde worked with TED (conference) to develop their first-ever Spanish Language speaker sessions known as TED en Español. TED en Español landed at the top of Apple's Podcast charts within the first few weeks of its release. In 2020 an Adonde Media project named "Las Raras" won Best Documentary in a Non-English Language at the Third Coast International Audio Festival.[6] That same project became the first Spanish-language podcast selected by the Google Podcast Creator program.[7] In 2021 the Podcast El Verdadero Robo del Siglo, produced by Adonde Media, won Best Podcast award for their narrative non-fiction investigative documentary podcast at Fe|Festival Internacional de Nuevas Narativas.[8]
