Alaa Al-Ali (born August 20, 1977) is an Jordanian businessperson and investor, best known as the founder and CEO of UAE-based Nirvana Holding, a Tourism management company.[1][2][3]

Personal life

Alaa Al-Ali was born on August 20, 1977 in the United Arab Emirates. His mother, Mrs. Hind Ibzakh, who is of Circassian and Jordanian origin, graduated from the Faculty of Economics and Political Science from the University of Baghdad.

He has two siblings, his sister, Rola Samir Al Ali, graduated from Al Bayan University in Abu Dhabi and his brother Omar Samir Al Ali, is the CEO of Nirvana Tourism and Logistics Company in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.[4]

Education

Al-Ali completed his primary education in Abu Dhabi at the Al-Nahda schools, then moved to Amman|Amman, Jordan to complete his preparatory and secondary studies at the Boarding School of Knowledge. He subsequently graduated from the Faculty of Tourism and Hotels, Alexandria University in 1997.[5]

Career

After graduation, Al-Ali began to work as a Sales executive selling modern vacuum cleaners. He also worked at the Jordan Airports for a short while before moving on to the Al Ain Rotana Hotel as a receptionist. In 2001, he began to work as a sales executive for Gulf Air, where he stayed till 2003.[6][7]

He moved to Abu Dhabi and started to work for the Millennium Hotel in 2003, and became the Director of Sales in 2007.[8]

In 2007, Al-Ali quit his job at Millennium Hotel and started Nirvana Travel and Tourism with capital backing from his father, Dr. Samir Al-Ali.[9][10][11]
