Anand Bal born 21 May 1983 is an Indian film actor, best known for his work in Malayalam cinema and television commercials. He made his debut as one of the supporting characters in the movie Kismath in 2016 directed by Shanavas K Bavakutty which was a commercial success. Since then he has appeared in many other commercially successful Malayalam movies and ad films.

Career

He made his debut in the movie Kismath in 2016 directed by Shanavas K Bavakutty. He played supporting roles in several films, including Pa Va2016, directed by Sooraj Tom, Guppy (film) 2016 directed by Johnpaul George, Aami 2018 directed by Kamal (director), Theevandi 2018 directed by Fellini T. P, Kalki (2019 Malayalam film) 2019 directed by Praveen Prabharam, Nalpathiyonnu (41) 2019 directed by Lal Jose[1], Love FM 2019 directed by Sreedev. He did his first lead role in the movie Mudi[2] [3] 2021 directed by Yassir Muhamed. He has signed to play a few supporting roles in upcoming directorial works of Srinath Rajendran’s Kurup (film)|Kurup Starring Dulquer Salmaan[4], Dijo Jose Antony’s Jana Gana Mana[5] starring Prithviraj Sukumaran, Ashraf Hamza’s Bheemante Vazhi written by actor Chemban Vinod Jose|Chemban Vinod Joseand stars Kunchacko Boban and untitled movie of Jis Joy.

He set off his acting career with his first short film, Boorshaw in 2001. In 2013, Anand got in to play his first television appearance through Kaula Foods Kaula Meat Masala television commercial. Anand then appeared in several television commercials and Ads which include a lead character in KPG Roofing’s commercial which has been marked as one of the most emotional ad films in the Indian public service domain in 2020, Preethi Kitchen Appliances Atham Pathu Ruchi: Onam Special Cooking Competition television commercial, TC-ONE Properties TC One Nest commercial, and has done the lead role in LESTIN a psycho-action thriller short film directed by Kiran Menon. He did a prominent character in the Malayalam feature film Pullu[6][7] which won the best Indian Feature Film at the 6th International Film Festival of Shimla 2020.

Early Life

Bal was born in Kozhikode, Kerala as the eldest son of Usha Sai Narayanan and AP Sai Narayanan. He completed his education at Silver Hills Public School, Kozhikode, and graduated from Zamorin's Guruvayurappan College. He attended his Post Graduate Business Management at Stansfield School of Business, Chennai.[citation needed]

Personal life

Bal married Aswathy Gopal in 2014 and they have a daughter. Bal is one of the directors of Indijoe Coffee Company a coffee focused solution provider based in Calicut. He is a member of the First Clap a charitable society that supports those who dreams of a career in the film industry founded by director Mr Shajoon Kariyal. Bal has been involved in many social causes like women empowerment, green initiatives and supports many non-profit organizations and individuals around him.[citation needed]
