Andrew Selley (born 1965) is a British businessman and CEO of Bidcorp UK and Bidfood UK. He is the author of the business book Ignite Your Business, published in 2020.[1][2]

Early and personal life

Selley was born in Ealing, London in July 1965 to parents David and Margaret. He later moved to Nottinghamshire and attended Nottingham High School. He holds a BA Hons in Geography from the University of Leicester, and MBA Business Studies from Aston University.

Selley lives in Warwick and has four children.

Career

In 1986, Selley began his career as a graduate, distribution management trainee at Cadbury Schweppes. He climbed the corporate ladder to become the youngest Sales Director in the business at the time.

In 1998, Selley was appointed as Managing Director (National Networks) for Booker Foodservice, which was acquired by Bidvest in 1999.

Between 1999 and 2014, Selley was Managing Director for Bidvest Logistics. He also was responsible for the MOD contract for Bidvest and established Bidvest the business in the Middle East, via a series of acquisitions.

In 2004, Selley was named the Institute of Directors ‘Young Director of the Year’[3]

In 2014, he became CEO of Bidfood UK.

In 2016 Bidvest conducted a share split, replacing one Bidvest share with one Bidvest and one Bidcorp share. This established Bidcorp as a global food services business separately listed on the Johannesburg stock exchange. Selley was appointed CEO of Bidcorp in the UK.

In 2019 Selley was awarded the Grocer Cup in the UK.[4] As CEO of Bidcorp, Selley oversaw consistent growth through to 2020. During the COVIS-19 situation he oversaw the contract delivering the Government Emergency Packs.[5] He is regular spokesperson on BBC Radio 4 Today.[6]

In 2020, he wrote and published the book ‘Ignite Your Business’.[7][8]
