Julian Scherle (born July 18, 1985 in Volkersgau, Germany) is a composer, multi-instrumentalist and performer based in Los Angeles.
Born and raised in a small village in Bavaria in Germany, Julian has been classically trained from the age of six. After completing his studies at the Robert Schumann Conservatory and the Institute for Music and Media in Düsseldorf, Scherle moved to Los Angeles, California in 2012. Over the years, he has developed a wide stylistic background and unusual artistic approaches became his expertise. [1] [2] Scherle's captivating melodies can be heard in various projects covering numerous media formats including feature films, TV series, documentaries, as well as video games.
His theatrical credits include the drama Pause, directed by Tonia Mishiali, which won the International Federation of Film Critics|FIPRESCI Award in 2018. [3] Furthermore, he scored the touching feature film Princess of the Row, which was directed by Max Carlson & produced by Morgan Freeman. His music was praised in The Independent Critic, stating that the score “bathes the film in realism meets fantasy, capturing all the right moments of grit and wonder, truth and love.” [4]
Currently, the composer is writing the melodies to director Michael Mailer's drama feature Swing, which stars Alexander Ludwig and Michael Shannon. The release date is yet to be set. Moreover, Scherle created music for various hit cable TV shows, for example the critically acclaimed and beloved USA Network series Mr. Robot and FX (TV channel)|FX Network's spine-tingling show American Horror Story, created by Ryan Murphy (writer)|Ryan Murphy. Additionally, Julian has written melodies for Scream Queens (FOX) as well as The People v. O. J. Simpson: American Crime Story|American Crime Story: People vs OJ (FX Network). [5]
