Mohamed Samir is an Egyptian writer, focused on economics and geopolitics[1]. Over the past decade, he covered Egypt’s and the Middle East and North Africa region’s financial, business, and geopolitical updates. He is currently the Executive Editor[2][3][4] of the Daily News Egypt.[5]. Daily News Egypt claims to be the only independent Egyptian newspaper in English language.
Early life and career
His works have been featured in Egypt Oil & Gas[6] magazine, the only Egypt-based and focused oil and gas information provider. He also is a content consultant at the Swedish start-up Newstag[7][8][9], which is a broadcasting company that delivers crowd-curated video news to its subscribers. Born in Egypt, raised between Egypt, and the United States, and educated in Western schools, Samir has an undergraduate petroleum engineering degree from Suez University. Samir graduated in 2011 and started his career in digital marketing where he cooperated with different agencies, before pursuing a journalism career.
