Mohammad Murad (born 1 February 1976) is a Kuwaiti award-winning wildlife photographer who has pioneered bird photography. Murad has well over a decade’s experience, traveling across the world and capturing unique and breathtaking photographs. He is regarded as one of the most prolific photographers in Kuwait. Throughout his career, he has participated in numerous competitions all around the world and has won many.[1][2]

Since 2016 Murad has been a constant recipient of photography awards, some of which include multiple Bird Photographer Of The Year Awards and HIPA awards. He has also been featured in several renowned media outlets such as National Wildlife Federation magazine, Kuwait Times,[3][4] Australian Photography,[5] The Guardian,[6] National Geographic,[7][8][9][10] Nat Geo,[11] Business Insider, and others.[12]

Early life and education

Murad was born on 1 February 1976 in Kuwait. Since he was a kid, Murad showed an inclination towards photography and was always seen trying to ‘capture the moment.’. His passion for photography was fueled by his muses - his father and Kuwait’s diverse landscape and nature.

Later, Murad enrolled in ASU and acquired a bachelor’s degree in Engineering in 2008.

Career

Murad started his career in 2014 when he joined the Photography and Documentary Team at the Voluntary Work Center. In the same year, he bought his first professional camera and began exploring his unique perspective with lenses. By the end of 2014, Murad also started working at the Birds Monitoring and Protecting Team at the Kuwait Environment Protection Society. During his time there, Murad honed his skills as a professional wildlife photographer and gained substantial experience as an industry expert.[13][14]

Within a year of his professional journey as a photographer, Murad managed to explore a better part of Kuwait and clicked several breathtaking photographs of the flora and fauna spread across Kuwait including that of the Arabian Red Fox.[15][16][17]

In 2015, Murad decided to expand his reach and moved to Hungry to broaden his photography portfolio as well as gain more exposure. During his time there, he even managed to capture the White-Tailed Eagle.[18] Three years later, Murad moved to Tanzania, where he stayed for a year capturing the local wildlife and then went to Masai Mara.[19]

In 2016, Murad won his first award as a professional wildlife photographer, and since then, he has won an award every year for his exceptional talent.
