Shoguns Studios is a premier British animation studio specializing in short bite-sized animations for children. The company is best known for the creation and production of Shimajiro (a Japanese iconic pre-school character) shows, Chichi Love, Disney's Use Your Voice campaign, redeveloping Mr. Monopoly & other Hasbro characters, as well as the creation of many iconic children characters.[1]
The company's headquarters are in London, and it was founded in 2019. Shoguns Studios has produced and collaborated with a number of market-leading brands in this field to create webisodes, long-form animations, toy figures, and mobile games for kids that are widely available on YouTube.
History
Will Appiah, a former character animator at the Lego corporation from 2008 to 2012, founded Shoguns Studios. Appiah founded Shoguns Studios to further hone his skills and take on new and creative projects after working for a number of well-known companies including Benesse Corporation, ITV, Tomy, Hasbro, Wow Toys, The Loyal Subjects, Zuru Toys, Goliath Games, Vivid Imagination, WWE, Learning Resources, Five Star, Simba Dickie Group, and Jada Toys.Shogun Studios is currently working on the Chichi Love mini-series for Simba's flagship IP. They were in charge of the show's three-dimensional animation. On YouTube, the show has received over 30 million views.
Shogun's company collaborated with Disney to create two animation shorts for Black History Month in 2020. The first was modeled on Kamala Harris, the first African-American vice president. It was all about her and her quest to the White House. It garnered mixed reviews due to its political aspect. The second was inspired by Misty Copeland, the first African-American ballet dancer. Shoguns Studio has been responsible for creating Benense studios Shimajiro property, Shimajiro is one of Japan's most famous pre-school and has been aired since 1993.
