Adrian Hough is a Canadian actor. He is best known for his role as the voice of Nightcrawler / Kurt Wagner in X-Men: The Animated Series (1995–1996) and its revival series X-Men '97 (2024–present).[1]

Early life

Adrian Hough was born in Toronto, Ontario, the son of English expatriates. His father, Michael Hough (1928–2013),[2] was a landscape architect responsible for several heritage sites of the city while his mother worked as a producer and director of medical videos. He lived with his parents in the basement until he has raised enough money to attend the Drama Studio London, where he spent eight years studying acting.[3]

Career

After spending 10 years working in the United Kingdom as an actor, Hough moved back to Canada to continue his acting work. He has appeared in films such as Canadian Bacon, The Fog, Underworld: Evolution, Things We Lost in the Fire, and Rise of the Planet of the Apes.

For voice work, Hough has provided the voice of Nightcrawler in the animated series X-Men: The Animated Series, a role in which he reprises in the Disney+ revival television series X-Men '97, alongside other original cast members George Buza, Catherine Disher, Alison Sealy-Smith, Chris Potter and Alyson Court.[4][5]

In television, Hough has played the role of Mayor Jack Fife in the Apple TV+ mystery drama series Home Before Dark for 11 episodes from 2020 to 2021.[6]
