Anthony Aguilar is a veteran of the United States Army Special Forces who was involved with UG Solutions and the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation during the Gaza War.
Early life
Before the Gaza War, Aguilar graduated from West Point. He served for 25 years in the United States Armed Forces as a combat infantry officer. He was deployed to twelve countries throughout his career, including Iraq and Afghanistan.[1][2] In 2005, he was awarded the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star.[3]
Gaza war
In May 2025, 18 months into the Gaza war and its subsequent famine, Aguilar accepted a position as a security contractor for an organization called UG Solutions, which held a subcontract with the GHF.[3][4]
Speaking on his time in Gaza, Aguilar alleged, "In my entire career, I have never witnessed the level of brutality and use of indiscriminate and unnecessary force against a civilian population. An unarmed, starving population,".[5][6] In interviews, Aguilar alleged that "the aid sites were placed in combat zones."[1] He also described alleged occasions of Palestinian civilians experiencing violence at the hands of the Israeli Defense Forces, including the killing of a young boy and a stun grenade being thrown at a Palestinian woman.[1] [7] [8][6][9] Aguilar claimed that he terminated his contract on June 14th after allegedly witnessing security officers and IDF soldiers open fire on Palestinian civilians who walked to the aid hubs.[10]
Aftermath
After returning home, Aguilar went public with his allegations. The GHF responded by holding a press conference, stating his claims were false and that he was an embittered ex-employee who was "terminated for misconduct" and "threatened UG Solutions with retribution."[11][12] The GHF also alleged that Aguilar had falsified documents and had sent Signal messages that complimented the GHF during his service.[13] Aguilar responded to these allegations by stating that he quit and wasn't fired, and that he was complimenting to boost the morale of the servicemen he was working with, not the leadership of the GHF.[14] The IDF also rejected Aguilar's claims that they fired at civilians.[12]
In late July 2025, Aguilar told his story in videos published by Senators Chris Van Hollen and Bernie Sanders on X.[15][16] As of early August 2025, he has appeared in interviews with Tucker Carlson, Amy Goodman, Piers Morgan, Sam Seder, and Jeremy Bowen.[6][3][1][17][14][18]
