Career
Early productions
Nitta began producing music in New York in the 2000s. In the early 2010s, he entered the production music field and became involved in creating music for film and television. In 2012, he released tracks including "Dazed By Love (Japanese)" featuring Tomomi, "Sex With No Love" featuring Danielle, and "CTRL 2" featuring Danielle.
LateSet Records and jazz guitar projects
Nitta has close ties to the New York- and Tokyo-based jazz label LateSet Records, a Japanese subsidiary of Spice Music. As a producer for LateSet, he contributed to the development of the LateSet Guitar Series, a collection of albums featuring New York–based jazz guitarists Gilad Hekselman, Davy Mooney,[1] Amanda Monaco,[2] and Peter Mazza.[3] The series was released first in Japan and subsequently in the United States in October 2009.[4]
On the album Words Unspoken, Nitta is credited as production manager, A&R, and producer, working alongside the guitarist.[5] He also co-produced Through My Eyes by Peter Mazza, released on LateSet Records, alongside producer Matt Smith and the guitarist. The album was recorded with New York–based sidemen Matt Penman and Will Vinson, and was released in 2007.[6]
YellowPeril New York
Nitta is a guitarist and backing vocalist for the Asian American funk metal band YellowPeril New York, whose work addresses political and social themes. The band released the album YellowPeril in 2000; a remastered version was released in 2024. The album was produced by Don Fury.[7]
Solo electronic and cyberpunk releases
From the 2010s onward, Nitta has released music through his solo projects that blends ambient, cyberpunk-influenced sound design with electronic R&B and soundtrack elements. These works include Can't Escape (EP, August 2021), an electronic R&B release featuring the title track "Can't Escape"; Escape (EP, October 2021), an electronic R&B project exploring themes of escapism and transformation; and Cyber Poet (EP, released October 6, 2021), a four-track electronic cyberpunk-ambient album featuring "Ultra Balance," "Rule Breaker," and "Wormhole Child," all written, composed, arranged, and programmed by Nitta.
