Binny Talib is an Australian author and illustrator of children's books.[1] Her work is recognised for its whimsical and contemporary style, often exploring themes of friendship, imagination and emotional growth.[2] She has illustrated more than forty books published internationally, including Origami Heart (Windy Hollow Books), Hark! It’s Me, Ruby Lee! (Hachette Australia), Sam Francisco, King of the Disco (Affirm Press), and The Letter Writer (Windy Hollow Books).[3]
Talib’s illustrations have appeared in books released across Australia, the United Kingdom, Europe, and North America.[1] Her clients include Penguin Random House, Hachette, Scholastic, Affirm Press, and Walker Books.[2] She is represented by The Bright Agency.[1]

Career
Talib began her career as a designer before focusing on children's publishing and surface pattern design.[1] Her artwork features stylised characters, soft colour palettes, and a nostalgic aesthetic influenced by mid-century illustration.[3] She also works in licensing and textile design, creating wallpapers and prints under her studio label.[8]
Awards and recognition
Talib’s work has received national and international recognition. She was awarded an Honour from the Children's Book Council of Australia in the Early Childhood category for Hark! It’s Me, Ruby Lee!, which was also shortlisted for the Prime Minister’s Literary Awards.[6][7] Her illustrations have been exhibited in the Society of Illustrators Annual Exhibition in New York,[9] and she was longlisted for the 2025 World Illustration Awards presented by the Association of Illustrators in the United Kingdom.[10]
