Ragini Werner is a writer of sapphic literature. Werner debuted in 2015 with the novel Revealing Philippa, which was followed by Becoming Janice in 2024.[1][2][3]

Career

Werner has a background in journalism, having worked for Elsevier, a publishing company. She currently serves as an independent English-language editor for Dutch academics. Her short stories have appeared in literary magazines in the United States, New Zealand, the Netherlands, and Belgium.[4][2]

Literary works

Werner's debut novel, Revealing Philippa, is a self-published work that explores themes of lesbian love and friendship set in the theatrical landscape of New Zealand.[4]

Her second novel, Becoming Janice, follows the titular character Janice, who moves to London after losing her first lover, Ariel.[5][6]

Personal Life

Ragini Werner lives in the far north of the Netherlands. Werner has been openly queer since her youth and is an advocate of queer literature.[2]
