Dan Bahadur Karki

Dan Bahadur Karki is Nepal's Inspector general of police (IGP), the country's highest ranking police officer.

He was appointed as the IGP on 11 November 2025 and took command of the Nepal Police on 13 November 2025. On the previous day, the outgoing IGP Chandra Kuber Khapung retired after 30 years of service in the police force.[1]

Education

Karki holds multiple Bachelor's Degrees in Law, Education and Humanities and Social Sciences as well as Master's Degree in Political Science.[2][3][4] He was awarded the Prabal JanaSewa Shree and United Nations Service Medal.[5]
