Danuta Mieloch is a Polish-born American esthetician and entrepreneur. She is the founder of Rescue Spa, a day spa with locations in both Philadelphia and New York City,[2][3] Shop Rescue Spa, an e-commerce site and the founder of Danucera, a clean skincare brand launched in 2022.[4]
Early life and education
Danuta Mieloch was born on July 22nd, 1966 in Bialystok, Poland and later moved to the United States in 1989.[1] In interviews, she has described training and influences rooted in European approaches to skincare and technique.[3]
Career
Rescue Spa
Mieloch opened the first Rescue Spa location in Philadelphia in 2004.[3] In 2017, She later expanded the business to New York City.[2] Her Spas have become world renowned for both its facial services and retail selection of profesional skincare brand.[3][5]
In 2019, Mieloch was highlighted by Vouge as an early U.S. retailer of products from the French skincare brand Biologique Recherche and for creating demand for items including Lotion P50.[5] In 2024, Elle lauded Mieloch for her longtime use of Lotion P50, making it popular stateside, and for being a longtime practitioner of cutting-edge facials and technique-focused treatments.[6]
Danucera
In November 2022, Mieloch launched her own skincare line Danucera. The capsule collection focused on a clean ingredients and simplified routines, without compromising benefits. In interviews, Mieloch has described the line as intentionally curated and designed to support consistent use intead of frequent product switching.[3] The Philadelphia Business Journal reported Danucera reached $1 million in sales within its first year, noting an early retail launch at Bergdorf Goodman.[4]
