Career

Mwita has been involved in numerous large-scale development projects, particularly in the Dar es Salaam, Songwe, Manyara, Tanga, Bagamoyo, Mtwara and Arusha regions, where he supports vulnerable individuals and families affected by different projects. His work includes assessing needs, resolving land and compensation-related grievances, and facilitating support for health, housing, and livelihoods. He currently serves as the Social Development Specialist in a major resettlement project, where he has handled complex grievance cases—such as land valuation disputes and livelihood restoration—and ensured compliance with international and local standards.

Community Engagement and Facilitation

Mwita is a seasoned facilitator with a focus on participatory approaches. He presented his signature "Compensation Conversations" workshop at the 2024 Facilitate Conference in Birmingham, UK, showcasing community-friendly facilitation techniques in resettlement.

He is an active member of **TAMASHA**, a Tanzanian organization that promotes youth participation and inclusion. Through TAMASHA’s **VIJANA HUB**, he collaborates with facilitators to deliver online and in-person sessions on employment, sexual health, social justice, and innovation.
