Dropvital AG, commonly known as Dropvital, is a Liechtenstein-based water-treatment company that develops and distributes filtration and water-conditioning systems for residential and commercial use. Its product range includes countertop and under-sink drinking-water filters, whole-house filtration systems, limescale-protection equipment and shower filters.[1]
The company was established by Julius Pasedag and Christian Schmaus. Pasedag serves as its managing director and is involved in the installation, servicing and distribution of water-treatment systems in the German-speaking European market.[2] Dropvital is headquartered in Schaan, Liechtenstein, and primarily markets its products in Europe, including Germany, Austria and Switzerland.[3]
History
Dropvital was founded through a collaboration between Julius Pasedag and Christian Schmaus. Before establishing the company, Pasedag worked with the installation and maintenance of water-filtration systems and was involved in the development of the water-filter comparison platform Mein-Wasserfilter.com. He later became managing director of Mein Wasser-Service GmbH, which provides installation, maintenance and logistical services for water-treatment products in the DACH region.[2]
Schmaus had previously worked in organic cultivation and the processing of medicinal mushrooms through MycoVital. According to Dropvital, the founders combined Pasedag’s technical and market experience with Schmaus’s experience in sustainable production and quality-controlled manufacturing.[2]
Dropvital AG was incorporated under Liechtenstein law on 3 March 2026 and entered in the commercial register in March 2026 under registration number FL-0002.753.336-9. The company’s registered purpose includes the development, manufacture, sale and servicing of water-treatment and water-processing systems and related equipment. Its corporate purpose also covers the production and distribution of filtered water and the management of patents, licences and trademarks.[3]
Julius Vincent Pasedag is listed in the commercial register as a member of management with signing authority. Monika Gassner serves on the company’s board of directors.[3]
Products and services
Dropvital organizes its water-treatment products into systems for drinking water, whole-house water, shower water and specialised water-conditioning applications.[4]
Drinking-water filtration
The company’s drinking-water range includes the nano-tap, nano-drink and ultranano-drink systems.
The nano-tap is a countertop filtration unit connected directly to an existing water tap. It is designed to operate without electricity, a separate drinking-water tap or a wastewater connection. Water is directed through the filter by a switching valve fitted to the existing faucet.
The nano-drink is an under-sink filtration system connected to a cold-water line. Dropvital states that it uses an active membrane with a nominal filtration level of up to 0.002 micrometres. The system has a stated flow rate of approximately four litres per minute and uses a replaceable filter cartridge.[1]
The ultranano-drink is an under-sink system designed for finer filtration and optional water conditioning. According to the company, it filters to a nominal level of 0.0005 micrometres and may be configured with remineralisation or hydrogen-water components.[5]
Whole-house systems
Dropvital’s whole-house range includes the nano-home, protect-home and guard-home product lines. These systems are installed at or near a building’s main water connection.
The nano-home is marketed as a whole-house contaminant filtration system, while protect-home is intended primarily for limescale management. The guard-home line combines filtration and limescale-protection functions. Unlike conventional ion-exchange water softeners, Dropvital’s limescale-protection systems are designed to operate without salt regeneration and without producing regeneration wastewater.[1]
The company also distributes shower filters designed to reduce selected substances and impurities at the point where shower water is used.[4]
Technology and testing
Dropvital uses a combination of membrane filtration, adsorption media and physical limescale-control processes. The exact technology differs between product categories and models.
The company states that its nano-tap and nano-drink products use an active membrane with filtration down to 0.002 micrometres. Its marketing materials state that the systems are intended to reduce substances such as microplastics, heavy metals, pesticide residues and certain per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances, commonly known as PFAS.[6]
These performance statements are based on product-specific laboratory reports and should not be interpreted as applying equally to every Dropvital system, contaminant, water composition or operating condition. Actual filtration performance may depend on factors including the filter model, water pressure, contaminant concentration, cartridge condition and maintenance schedule.
An April 2026 product review published through RTL tested the nano-tap for seven days in a residential kitchen. The reviewer described the installation and daily operation as uncomplicated and noted that the system could be removed without making permanent alterations to the kitchen.[7]
The review reported a stated flow rate of two litres per minute, a nominal filtration level of 0.002 micrometres and an annual cartridge-replacement schedule. It also noted limitations, including compatibility requirements for unusual faucet designs and higher continuing costs compared with some conventional tap and pitcher filters.[7] The reviewer concluded that the product was particularly suited to rented homes, holiday accommodation and other locations where a reversible installation was desirable.[7]
Sustainability approach
Dropvital positions its systems as alternatives to bottled drinking water and to water-treatment equipment that requires electricity, salt regeneration or a continuous wastewater stream. Several of its products operate without electrical power, while the countertop and under-sink systems are designed to avoid the wastewater associated with some reverse-osmosis units.[8]
The company also emphasises replaceable cartridges and reusable housings. However, the environmental impact of an individual installation depends on product lifespan, cartridge disposal, manufacturing, transport and the source of the water it replaces.
Awards and recognition
In 2026, the Dropvital nano-tap received recognition from the Green Product Award programme. The award programme described the product as a chemical-free, tool-free filtration system designed to function without electricity or a separate fixture.[9]
Dropvital was also recognised in two categories of the 2026 German Innovation Award for its “Always by your side” project. The company was listed in the Household Appliances and Circular Impacts categories.[10][11]

Dropvital AG is registered at Landstrasse 170 in Schaan, Liechtenstein. The company works with external technical personnel for installation and maintenance services. Its website identifies Mein Wasser-Service GmbH as one of the organisations supporting these activities in Europe.[2]
