Ethan Nguyen is a Vietnamese-Dutch film and television actor. They gained national recognition in the Netherlands for their role as Fox in the first Dutch Halloween comedy HalloWiebe (2025).[1] and has appeared in Dutch and international TV series, including Amsterdam Empire (Netflix, 2025), The Kollective (Hulu, 2025), and Medisch Centrum West (SBS6/Talpa Network, 2026). Nguyen is the first openly Asian-Dutch trans/non-binary actor on Dutch screens[2]
Career
Nguyen made their acting debut in 2022. They initially had no ambition to become an actor but first encountered acting as a featured extra on a Dutch television series. This experience inspired them to pursue acting further and audition for film and television roles.[1]
In 2025, Nguyen gained national recognition in the Netherlands for their role as Fox in the theatrical release HalloWiebe. That same year, they made their international debut in the Hulu series The Kollective.
Independent Projects
In addition to acting, Nguyen developed their own film projects. They wrote, produced, and starred in the short films Stiletto (2023) and Coffee House (2023). Stiletto was selected for the Netherlands Film Festival 2023.[3]. Coffee House was screened at the Queer Film Festival Utrecht, where it placed in the top three films[2]
