Ian Bloom (born February 15, 1990) is an American art dealer and the founder and director of NATURAL, an art gallery and publishing house established in Los Angeles in 2025. Operated by Natural Gallery LLC, NATURAL works across exhibitions, viewing rooms, original art, editions, books, design objects, acquisitions, and private sales.[1][2]

Bloom is also a publisher, filmmaker, actor, musician, author, and visual artist. His work outside the gallery includes books, films, recorded music, paintings, and photographs.[3]

NATURAL is distinct from Bloom’s personal catalogue. Ianbloom.co documents work issued under his own name, while natural.gallery presents the wider gallery and publishing program, including work beyond Bloom’s own visual-art practice.[4]

Early life

Bloom was born on February 15, 1990, in Hollywood, Los Angeles, California.[5]

Career

Art dealing and NATURAL

Bloom founded NATURAL in Los Angeles in 2025 and serves as its director. The gallery organizes its public program through exhibitions, private viewing rooms, catalogues, original works, editions, publications, design objects, and private transactions. Bloom directs selection, catalogue development, rights and provenance documentation, publishing, editions, and sales.[1][4]

The separation between Bloom’s personal catalogue and NATURAL’s gallery program is deliberate. Bloom’s books, films, recordings, paintings, and photographs remain catalogued under his own name. NATURAL functions as the broader art-dealing and publishing program through which he presents and sells selected works, editions, and publications. Natural Press is the publishing imprint used for Bloom’s books; Natural Pictures and Natural Archive are used for his film and recorded-music catalogue.[6][7][8]

Writing and publishing

Bloom’s long-form catalogue began with fiction and screenplays written from 2013 onward. Screwdriver was first published in paperback in 2016 and was followed by Natural Press hardcover editions of Screwdriver, Savage Recreation, and Raw Canvas in 2024 and King Kong in 2025. A larger Natural Press hardcover program followed in 2026, bringing the published catalogue to sixteen books.[9][6][3]

The first four Natural Press hardcovers were reviewed by Kirkus Reviews through its Kirkus Indie program.[10] The reviews treated the books as experimental, genre-mixing works and were critical of narrative clarity, characterization, and structural control in several titles. The review of King Kong gave the book a “Get It” verdict while describing its highly specific introspection and philosophical digressions as likely to divide readers.[11][12][13][14]

Film and performance

Bloom writes, directs, produces, photographs, and performs in his own films. His first completed screen work was Driver, a 23-minute short produced and released in 2016.[15][16]

Star Vehicle, produced in 2025, is an 82-minute feature in which Bloom performs the dual leading roles of the Star and the Suit. The film is completed but unreleased and is listed by MUBI.[17][18]

King, produced in 2026, is a 65-minute feature without spoken dialogue in which Bloom plays an art dealer. Big Time is a one-man New York feature built around Bloom’s performance as the Gangster. Both films are in post-production.[19][20]

Music

Bloom writes, performs, produces, and arranges his own recorded music. His first released studio album, Swagger, was recorded in 2024 and released through Natural Archive on August 14, 2025. The album contains ten tracks.[21][22]

Bloom’s recording catalogue also includes Laid, Swagger II, Swagger III, Golf, Know, and Meet Ian Bloom. These albums are unreleased and are identified by Bloom as recorded or in post-production.[8][3]

Visual art

Bloom’s personal visual-art catalogue includes paintings and photographs made between 2008 and 2022. The publicly catalogued photographs include Head of War, Paris and a five-work Chicago group; the paintings include early New York works and the Road works made in Los Angeles and New York.[23] This personal art practice is presented separately from NATURAL’s wider gallery program.
