Madhumita Bhowmick, is a renowned vocalist hailing from the Indian state of West Bengal. Her songs comprise varied genres ranging from Bengali Folk Songs to Modern Bengali Songs. She primarily sings in Bengali and Hindi.
Education
She completed her graduation from Maulana Azad College, Kolkata in English Literature. She has done her post graduation in English Literature from Rabindra Bharati University, Kolkata.[1]
Albums
Madhumita had released her first album Meghmon in 2008. She then released three more albums, "Kemon Acho Bondhu"(2010).[2], "Na Bola Ichhe"(2011)[3] and "Tomari Jonnye"(2012)[4]. Her folk albums comprise Folk Forever (2014)[5] and Folk Forever 2(2016).[6]
Awards And Recognition
She received the Anandabazar Sharod Srestha Award in 2010 for her album Kemon Acho Bondhu[7]. Rangabati from the album Folk Forever 2 received wide recognition[8].
She appeared on various TV shows, at Aakash Aath[9] and Tara Muzik[10]. She has also performed on radio shows, at Big FM[11]
She has released her new Bengali Song Amar Moner in 2025 which crossed 1 lakh views on her YouTube channel[12]. She has also sung the ghazal, Aaj Jane Ki Zid Na Karo.[13]
