Mary "Maria" Peter Claverys is a Tanzanian model and beauty pageant titleholder who won Miss Mwanza 2016.[1][2][3][4][5] She is the third woman from Tanzania to compete in Miss Africa Calabar Competition.
Early life
Mary grew up in Mwanza, Tanzania and went to Islamiya English Medium Primary School, St Joseph’s girls seminary and Nganza girls high school in Mwanza. She later moved to the city of Dar Es Salaam and went to the university of Dar es salaam. Coming from a humble background, she first began working after being scouted as a model at the age of 20 by black fox models Africa. This went on to become her breakthrough on a modeling career where later she was represented internationally by base models Cape Town.
At the age of 22 she joined the beauty pageant world and won Miss Mwanza 2016 and representing her home town in Miss Tanzania 2016 where she emerged 1st runner-up.
She later represented Tanzania in Miss Africa 2018[6] where she emerged top 15 in the competition.
Personal life
In 2020 she moved to Warsaw Poland to peruse further academic opportunities, in 2022 Mary acquired a masters degree in business management from the University of Economics and Human Sciences in Warsaw, currently pursuing a career as an investment banking analyst.
