My Little Salesman, Inc. is an American online marketplace company serving the commercial trucking, heavy equipment, trailer, and machinery industries. Founded in 1958 by Richard Pierce and Cliff Womack, the company is known for publishing The My Little Salesman Catalog, an early photo classified publication focused on equipment dealers and trucking inventory.[1]
The company later expanded into digital services and launched MyLittleSalesman.com, an online marketplace for buying and selling commercial trucks, trailers, and heavy equipment. In 1997, the company introduced what it described as one of the first searchable online databases for commercial trucks and heavy equipment inventory.[1]
My Little Salesman also operates DealershipDrive.com, a dealership management system designed for equipment and vehicle dealers.[2]
History
My Little Salesman was established in 1958 by Richard Pierce and Cliff Womack during the growth of the postwar trucking and construction industries in the United States.[1] The founders developed a publication focused on photo classified advertisements for dealers selling commercial trucks and heavy equipment inventory. The publication became known as The My Little Salesman Catalog and circulated among equipment dealers and trucking businesses across the United States.[1]
During the following decades, the company expanded its classified publication business and developed regional and national circulation for dealer advertising. The company maintained operations connected to printing, publishing, and industrial advertising, including facilities in Eugene, Oregon.[3]
In the 1990s, My Little Salesman expanded into online publishing and digital inventory listings. In 1997, the company launched an online searchable database for commercial trucks, trailers, and heavy equipment inventory listings.[1] The platform later evolved into MyLittleSalesman.com, an online marketplace for equipment buyers, sellers, dealerships, and auction companies.
In 2014, the company introduced a responsive redesign of its website for mobile and tablet compatibility.[4]
In 2019, My Little Salesman unveiled a new corporate logo as part of a branding update.[5]
