Omar L. Harris is an American business leader, executive coach, and bestselling author known for his innovative approaches to leadership and organizational culture. He is the founder and managing partner of Intent Consulting, a firm dedicated to fostering high-performance and inclusive workplaces.[1] Harris has over two decades of experience in the pharmaceutical industry and management consulting, specializing in servant leadership and the J.E.D.I. (Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion) framework.[2][3]
Early life and education
Harris was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He graduated from A.M. Barbe High School in 1995. He earned a Bachelor of Science and an MBA in Marketing from Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University, completing his studies in 2002.
Career
Harris has over 20 years of global experience across the pharmaceutical and consulting industries, holding leadership positions in the United States, Latin America, the Middle East, and Southeast Asia.
He began his career as an associate product manager at Pfizer. In 2002, he joined Schering-Plough, where he progressed from medical center specialist to cardiovascular business unit director, launching a specialty unit that achieved significant sales growth across Latin America. Other notable roles include Senior Director of Cardiovascular Marketing at Merck, Associate Vice President and Country President for Brazil at Allergan, and General Manager for Indonesia at GSK.[4]
In 2020, Harris founded Intent Consulting, a management consultancy dedicated to creating high-performance cultures through the application of his J.E.D.I. (Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion) framework. His work focuses on aligning organizational values with operational practices to enhance inclusivity, equity, and employee engagement.[5]
Additionally, Harris developed TYMPO.io, a software platform designed to foster employee inclusion within organizations.
J.E.D.I. Leadership Series
Harris is the creator of the J.E.D.I. Leadership Series, a comprehensive approach that integrates justice into traditional diversity and inclusion frameworks. His methodology challenges organizations to adopt deeper and more authentic inclusivity practices, moving beyond surface-level measures to address systemic inequities.[6]
The J.E.D.I. Leader’s Playbook serves as a practical guide for leaders to implement these principles, equipping them with tools to build equitable and just organizational cultures.[7]

Harris is a Gallup Certified Strengths Coach. He has developed over 20 team performance acceleration principles to enhance group success in diverse organizational settings. His work emphasizes servant leadership, strengths-based team building, and sustainable high performance.

Harris is the author of six books focused on leadership and organizational culture, including Be a J.E.D.I. Leader, Not a Boss (2021), The Servant Leader's Manifesto (2020), and Leader Board: The DNA of High-Performance Teams (2019).
