ROHLIG SUUS Logistics S.A. is a Polish logistics and freight forwarding company headquartered in Warsaw. It provides road, sea, air, rail and intermodal freight transport, as well as contract logistics, customs services and project cargo, and operates in Central and Eastern Europe and Central Asia.
The company traces its origins to Röhlig Poland, founded in 1989, and adopted the name ROHLIG SUUS Logistics in 2009 following a management buyout and rebranding. It has appeared for several years in the annual TSL (transport–forwarding–logistics) rankings published by the Polish daily Dziennik Gazeta Prawna and by Rzeczpospolita. Since July 2024 it has been led by Piotr Iwo Chmielewski, who succeeded his father and company founder Tadeusz Chmielewski through a family succession.
History
The company began as Röhlig Poland Sp. z o.o., opening its first office in 1989. Tadeusz Chmielewski joined in 1990 and became general manager in 1994; he became president of the management board in 2003 and, through a management buyout, sole owner in 2006, making the company independent from the Röhlig & Co. group while retaining a partnership with it in air and sea freight. In 2009 it was rebranded as ROHLIG SUUS Logistics, taking the Latin word suus ("one's own") to mark its independent identity.
From 2018 the company expanded outside Poland, opening offices in the Czech Republic and Hungary (2018), Slovenia (2019), and Slovakia and Romania (2020). In 2023 it made its first acquisitions — Expert in Poland and Joppa Logistics in the Czech Republic — and opened a branch in Kazakhstan. It later opened subsidiaries in Ukraine (2025) and Uzbekistan, bringing its operations to nine countries.
In July 2024 Piotr Iwo Chmielewski became president of the management board through a planned family succession, with Tadeusz Chmielewski moving to the supervisory board.
Operations
The company offers road, sea, air, rail and intermodal freight forwarding, alongside contract logistics, customs services and project cargo, and operates a domestic groupage distribution network in Poland. For global air and sea freight it cooperates with the German Röhlig & Co. network.
As reported by Rzeczpospolita, the company recorded revenue of about PLN 2.24 billion for financial year 2025 (April–March), around 3% higher year on year; during the period it opened warehouse operations in Romania, a subsidiary in Ukraine and three new cross-dock terminals in Poland.
Rankings
The company has appeared over several years in independent Polish industry rankings. In the 23rd edition of the Dziennik Gazeta Prawna TSL ranking it placed fifth by TSL revenue for 2017. In the 28th edition of the same ranking it placed second in the road-forwarding category. It has also featured in the annual Rzeczpospolita TSL rankings.
