Scott Dylan (born February 3, 1984) is a British entrepreneur, business strategist, investor, and philanthropist.[1] He is the co-founder of Inc & Co,[2] a venture capital and investment company.[3] With over two decades of experience, Dylan is known for his expertise in revitalising distressed businesses and fostering innovation across various industries. He has co-founded and invested in various companies, including Knomo London, Baldwins Travel Agency, Skylabs, Incspaces, and Inc. Retail.[4][5]

Early Life and Education

Dylan was born and raised in Greenwich, London. Growing up, he developed a passion for entrepreneurship. He attended John Roan School, where he explored various business opportunities, identified cost-saving measures, and was engaged in various entrepreneurial ventures. In 1995, Dylan enrolled at Italia Conti Associates, a performing arts institution, to broaden his creative abilities.

In 2000, Dylan enrolled at Manchester College, studying English, law, and psychology. Dylan, driven by his interest in law, obtained a bachelor's degree in law from the Open University. Dylan joined the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives (CILEx) and the Institute of Paralegals at the university.

Career

Early years

Dylan began his career in 2000, and since then, he has held numerous senior leadership positions. He began as a technical developer, specialising in web application development and content management sites. He has worked at companies such as Web Imps, Alchemy Digital Marketing & Communications, Message Transfer Limited, Cable & Wireless Communications, and Cable & Wireless Communications. He has also worked as a graphic designer and developer at Tarantula Digital; a senior developer at Deutsche Bank; a lead technical developer at The Really Useful Group Limited; and a senior developer at the UK Ministry of Defence. In 2005, Dylan joined Microsoft as a network security and encryption consultant.[6]

In 2006, Dylan established a digital agency. The agency provided online and offline marketing campaigns for companies like Google, SimplyBe, and Caldesene. In 2012, the agency ranked 14th in the Top 100 Agencies.

In 2014, Dylan joined ANDigital. He was part of the initial team and contributed to the company’s rapid growth. He has also served as a Global Marketing and Operations Director at Ditto Music and Head of Digital and Content Marketing at Octopus Investments.[7][8]

Inc & Co

In 2019, Scott Dylan co-founded Inc & Co alongside Jack Mason (CEO) and Dave Antrobus (CTO).[9] Inc & Co was established with the mission to acquire and revitalise distressed businesses, aiming to save jobs and minimise losses for creditors.[10] The company has achieved significant milestones, acquiring companies across various sectors, including incspaces, Knomo London, Skylab Agency, Baldwins Travel Agency, Thailo, and Maker&Son. Under Scott's strategic leadership, Inc & Co has expanded its operations, with offices in London, Manchester, Leeds, and Barcelona, and plans for further growth in Australasia and the USA.[11][12][13]

Inc & Co has also established several businesses, including King Street Grooming, Wood for Trees (acquired by Edit Agency), MyLife Digital (acquired by Dataguard), and Laundrapp (sold to Laundryheap).[14][15][16]

In addition to his entrepreneurial ventures, Dylan is renowned for his expertise in business strategy, providing mentorship and strategic direction to startups and struggling businesses, helping them achieve new heights. He is a Forbes Business Council member and regularly contributes to publications such as Business Manchester and the Machester Gazette. He is known for his experience and expertise in venture capital, entrepreneurship, investment, and business strategy.[17][18][19]

Dylan is a published author, having released his debut publication, “The Manager's Compass: Navigating the Challenges of Modern Business Leadership,” in March 2024.[20][21]

NexaTech Ventures

In 2024, Scott Dylan founded NexaTech Ventures, a venture capital firm with a substantial £100 million fund dedicated to accelerating growth in the AI and technology sectors.[22] With this initiative, Scott aims to support and nurture the next generation of innovators and entrepreneurs across various high-impact industries, including healthcare, finance, logistics, and the creative arts.[23]

Philanthropy

Dylan is a dedicated philanthropist, particularly for mental health initiatives and LGBTQ+ rights. His commitment to mental health advocacy stems from his personal experience with complex PTSD.[27] He is a trained Samaritan and has supported community initiatives such as Beehive during the COVID pandemic.[28]

Personal life

Dylan has lived and worked in various countries, including the USA, Spain, the Netherlands, and France. Currently, he divides his time between the UK, Ireland, and Spain, with his partner Gareth. He has two pet dogs, Blu and Bán. He previously had two dogs for 15 years called Ralph and Harvey.

In his free time, Dylan enjoys music, dancing, cinema, and spending time with his family and friends.
