History
Sensika Technologies was founded in 2012 in Sofia, Bulgaria, by Vassil Velichkov, Konstantin Christoff, Nenko Ivanov, and Alexander Kanchev.[1]
In October 2023, Sofia-based investment firm HR Capital acquired a minority stake in the company.[2] The same year, Sensika announced plans for an initial public offering on the Bulgarian Stock Exchange’s BEAM growth market, aiming to raise up to €3 million for expansion and product development.[2][4]
In May 2024, Digitalk described Sensika as a company applying artificial intelligence in media analytics, with capabilities including topic detection, sentiment analysis, facial recognition, speech-to-text transcription, and disinformation monitoring.[3]
In June 2024, Sensika and the American University in Bulgaria’s Center for Information, Democracy and Citizenship (CIDC) co-founded the CIDC–Sensika Disinformation Observatory.[5] In April 2025, Euractiv and Table.Media reported on the Observatory’s study of the Russian “Pravda” network, which analyzed more than 640,000 publications and found that over half originated from former Soviet and Balkan states.[6][7]

According to Digitalk, Sensika’s platform collects and analyzes content from online news, print publications, broadcast outlets, social media, and visual material. It includes tools for topic detection, sentiment analysis, facial recognition, speech-to-text transcription, and monitoring of disinformation networks.[3]
Forbes Bulgaria has reported that the company also provides media monitoring services, including the preparation of analytical reports and summaries for institutions and businesses.[1]
Partnerships and Collaborations
Sensika’s technology has been used in independent research published by organizations including the Center for the Study of Democracy (CSD) and the Human and Social Studies Foundation (HSSF). These studies have addressed propaganda, corruption, and disinformation in Bulgaria and Southeast Europe.
