Shalini Passi
Shalini Passi (born 1976) is an Indian art patron, collector, philanthropist and television personality, based in Delhi. She is the founder of the Shalini Passi Art Foundation and the digital platform MASH India, and she serves on advisory boards for major art organisations. She gained widespread recognition after appearing on the Netflix reality series Fabulous Lives vs Bollywood Wives (2024–).[1]
Early Life and Education
Shalini Passi was raised in Delhi. Her grandfather had migrated from Pakistan and set up a construction business; her family lived in areas such as Greater Kailash and later Jor Bagh. She attended Modern School, Barakhamba, and later Jesus & Mary College in Delhi. In her youth, she was a state-level gymnast.
Career
Art Patronage and Collection
Passi has been active as a collector and patron of contemporary Indian and international art. Her collection includes works by Indian artists such as Bharti Kher, Atul Dodiya and Subodh Gupta, as well as international figures.[2]
She is a longstanding member of the Advisory Board of Khoj Studios (since 2012) and a patron of the Kochi‑Muziris Biennale.[3]
In 2018 she founded the Shalini Passi Art Foundation and the digital platform MASH India, aimed at fostering emerging artists and highlighting intersections of art, design, architecture and fashion.[4][5]
Media & Public Profile
In 2024, Passi appeared as a cast member on the Netflix reality series Fabulous Lives vs Bollywood Wives, which brought her wider public visibility beyond art-circles.[6]
Her home, a 20,000 sq ft boomerang-shaped mansion in Golf Links, Delhi, filled with artworks and luxury design, has been widely featured in media.[7]
Philanthropy
Passi has engaged in philanthropic activities such as organising arts-workshops for under-privileged children and supporting organisations such as the Delhi Society for the Welfare of Special Children. She and her husband made a reported donation of INR 10 crore to the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams in 2021-22.[8]
Personal Life
Shalini Passi is married to Sanjay Passi, chairman of the Pasco Group (an automotive-dealership group). They live in Delhi with their son Robin.[9]
