Shobhinaw Satyaa (also known as Shobhinav Satya) is an Indian actor and filmmaker from Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh.[1] He is best known for portraying Neem Karoli Baba in the 2026 Hindi devotional drama Hanuman Ansh.[2] The role marked his acting debut in a feature film and brought him wider recognition.[3][4]
Satyaa studied at the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII), Pune, and also received training at the Opulent School of Acting and Films in Lucknow, where he subsequently worked as an acting teacher. Before appearing on screen as an actor, he spent several years working in film and television production in roles including assistant director, second-unit director, and script and continuity supervisor.[5]
His production credits include work associated with projects such as Ragini MMS Returns, Happily Even After, C.I.D. and Mahapaur.[6]
In Hanuman Ansh, directed by Vishal Chaturvedi, Satyaa portrays Neem Karoli Baba during his early spiritual journey. He initially joined the film's production team as an assistant director. According to reports, director Vishal Chaturvedi subsequently recognised his suitability for the central role and asked him to undertake an extensive screen test, after which Satyaa was cast.[7]
Early life and education
Satyaa is from Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. He pursued formal education at Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia Avadh University and later trained in acting and filmmaking. He attended the Film and Television Institute of India in Pune and was also associated with the Opulent School of Acting and Films in Lucknow.
Career
Before establishing himself as an actor, Satyaa worked primarily behind the camera. His professional experience included continuity supervision, assistant direction, second-unit direction, and work in script and continuity departments. He worked on television and streaming productions including C.I.D., Ragini MMS Returns, Happily Even After and Mahapaur.[8]
His transition to acting came with Hanuman Ansh. Although he initially joined the production as an assistant director, he was subsequently selected to portray the young Neem Karoli Baba after an extensive screen test. The film was released theatrically in August 2026, and Satyaa's performance received significant attention.[9][10]
