Stefano Chiesa (born March 30, 1990) is an Italian philosopher, writer, poet, music critic, and pianist.[1] He is known for his contributions to philosophy, literature, music, has authored numerous works, and conducted notable research.[2][3]

Early life and education

Chiesa was born March 30, 1990, in Segrate, Milan. He had an early interest in classical music and philosophy, studying piano with seven different teachers during his youth. He graduated with honors from the Università Vita-Salute San Raffaele in Milan and the Université de Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne, where he studied French as part of the Erasmus program (2013–2014). Chiesa also holds master’s degrees in Humanities, Digital Marketing, and Human Resources.

Career

Chiesa began his writing career with a philosophical essay on Jean-Paul Sartre's Existentialism, written in French at the age of 21, which won first prize in 2020 “Premio Internazionale ‘Letteratura’, ICI, Naples – Essay” and was published later.[4] His subsequent works include studies on nightmares in psychoanalysis and the arts, and Chopin’s revolutionary musical language. These books are housed in the New York Public Library[5] and Stanford Libraries,[6] respectively.[7]

Over the past 12 years, Chiesa has published 17 books, including essays, anthologies, and a novel. His articles are published in outlets such as Milano Sud and Il Giornale Letterario, and have reached substantial readerships.[8][9]

Chiesa combines his expertise in music and philosophy, presenting conferences at the Casa della Cultura in Milan (2020, 2022, 2023) and managing a YouTube channel featuring music-related lectures.[10] His research on Chopin’s music has earned him recognition from the Fryderyk Chopin Institute in Warsaw, where he is profiled alongside prominent pianists and musicologists.[11][12]

As a poet, Chiesa is noted for his use of aphorisms.[13] His works are featured in anthologies, including Arte senza frontiere, which received the Libro por la paz 2024 award. Since 2020, Chiesa has received over 50 literary awards for his contributions to poetry, fiction, and essays.[14]

In 2024, he has been presented both at “Frankfurt Buchmesse” and at “Salone Internazionale del Libro di Torino”, with his last 2 essays about piano classical music”.[15][16]

In 2025, he is part of ‘Storia della Letteratura Italiana/dal secondo Novecento ad oggi’ (‘Helicon Editions’), where he is quoted alongside well-known Italian writers and poets of the 20th Century.

“In 2025 he was nominated for the ‘Global Icons Awards’, the most prestigious prize of ‘WCIF’, Writers Capital International Foundation, of which he is a member. He delivered a speech during the ‘Athens Global Summit 2025’.”
