Stellah Nakirijja (born 03 March 1994) is an Agricultural Expert at Makerere University who developed a solar-powered tick detector.[1][2][3] She is the co-founder of Enerforte Uganda Limited.

Background and Education

Stellah was born in Nakaseke District. She is affiliated with the Department of Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering at Makerere University, where her expertise encompasses irrigation engineering and water resources engineering and management.[4] She is also pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration and Management at Makerere University.

Recognition

In 2024, Stellah won a special award in the AYuTe Africa Challenge, an agricultural technology competition. She was honored for developing a solar-powered tick detector aimed at enhancing livestock health and productivity. This innovation earned her UGX 3.5 million in the Women in Agribusiness category.[5][6][7][8] She represented Makerere University in the President's Cup woodball tournament, achieving a podium finish in the women's singles category.[9]
