Thuy Diem Pham (born 1981) is a British–Vietnamese chef, author.[1], and restaurateur. She is the founder of The Little Viet Kitchen[2] in Islington, London, and the author of several cookbooks, including The Little Viet Kitchen (2018)[3] and Vietnamese Made Easy (2023)[4]. Her third book, One Pan Vietnam[5], is scheduled for publication in February 2026. Pham is widely recognised as the leading voice on Vietnamese cuisine in the United Kingdom[6][7][8] and has appeared on television programmes including MasterChef: The Professionals and Saturday Kitchen.
Early life and education
Pham was born in Trà Vinh, Vietnam, to Vietnamese parents. Her father was one of the "boat people" who fled the country as a post-war refugee. She moved to the United Kingdom at the age of seven.
She studied Marketing Communications at the University of Greenwich, graduating with a BA (Hons). In 2024, she was awarded an honorary Doctorate of Business Administration by the University of Greenwich[9] in recognition of her contribution to the food industry.
Career
The Little Viet Kitchen
Pham began her career by hosting a supper club in Islington, which developed into a pop-up restaurant before she opened The Little Viet Kitchen in 2015. The restaurant received critical acclaim and won several awards, including:
- Golden Chopsticks Awards (GCA’s): Best Restaurant in England (Winner, 2019 and 2021), Best UK Street Food (Winner, 2021), and Food Influencer (Runner-Up, 2019)
- Observer Food Monthly Awards: Best Restaurant in the UK (Runner-Up, 2018 and 2019)[10][11]
- Green Earth Appeal: Carbon Free Dining Award (2018)
Consultancy and judging
Since closing The Little Viet Kitchen, Pham works as a chef consultant to restaurants across the UK. She has served as a judge for the Guild of Food Writers Awards, The Golden Chopsticks Awards, and Baxter Storey’s The People Awards.
She has served as a brand ambassador for companies including Rangemaster[12], Gozney[13], Amoy and Kamado Joe.

Personal life
Pham lives in St Albans with her husband and son.
