Tigé Boats, Inc. is a manufacturer of inboard towboats based in Abilene, Texas.[1] The company, founded in 1991 by Charlie Pigeon, produces boats for water skiing, wakeboarding, and wake surfing.[1][2]
History
The company’s first model was the 2000 SLM Comp in 1992.[3] The model was named Rookie of the Year by Waterski Magazine.[4][5] In 1995, Tigé relocated its operations from Merced, California, to Abilene, Texas.[1][6][7] Production at a new 135,000-square-foot headquarters and manufacturing facility began in January 2006.[6][7] In 2025, Boating Magazine named the Ultré 23ZX “Boat of the Year” in the Watersports category.[8]
Technology
Tigé introduced the Tigé Adjustable Performance System (TAPS) in 1995, followed by the Convex V hull; an updated system, TAPS², was introduced in 2003.[1][2][5]An updated system, TAPS², was introduced in 2003.[1][2] In 2009, the company introduced TigéTouch, a digital control system for ballast and speed functions.[9][10]
