Political Career
In 1958, Suarez ran for Governor of Ohio.[1] This was her first bid for any office.[2] She ran against six men in the Democratic Primary and lost. Among her opponents were Michael DiSalle, Anthony J. Celebrezze, Albert S. Porter, Robert N. Gorman, Jack Sensenbrenner, and Clingan Jackson.[1] Her principal political target was Mayor M.E. (Jack) Sensenbrenner of Columbus, Ohio. [2]
