Biography

Vukasin enrolled in Acting at the Faculty of Dramatic Arts in Belgrade with the 2016/17 class,[2] under the mentorship of Prof. Marija Milenković. He gained his first experience in the second year of his studies within the drama program of Radio Belgrade, recording radio dramas.

He performed his first professional role in 2019 at the Opera & Theatre Madlenianum, with the play "Suitcases (Koferče)"[3] by Yuri Polyakov, directed by Olja Đorđević. Immediately after that, in the same year, he also performed his second at the National Theater in Belgrade with the play "Are You for Security? (Jeste li za bezbednost?)"[4] directed by Anđelka Nikolić, and his third and first leading role at the Boško Buha Theatre in the play "Nemušti jezik (Don't bite your tongue)"[5] directed by Milan Karadžić. The same year, he made his debut at Atelje 212 in the famous "Brod plovi za Beograd[6]".

In the following 20/21 years, he made his debut on the "big screen" with the role of Andrej Matić[7] in the film and adapted television series "Jedini izlaz" directed by Darko Nikolic, while dubbing the feature films Maleficent: Mistress of Evil[8] and Space Jam: New Legacy. He achieved notable roles in the Serbian television series "Dream Team"[9] and "Svindleri 2" and worked on several other plays in the theatre.

He graduated acting in 2020/21 at the Faculty of Dramatic Arts with his class by performing the play "The Caucasian Chalk Circle (Kavkaski Krug Kredom)"[10] by Bertolt Brecht. With his graduation play, Marija Milenkovic's class performed at the 40th anniversary VGIK festival in Moscow and won the Grand Prix.[11] Then he also performed at festivals in Romania and North Macedonia. The award-winning play began to be performed at the National Theatre in Belgrade.

He is the son of the actor Dubravko Jovanović and Maja Jovanović, a manager in the field of culture and arts. Vukasin has an older brother Dragos, and younger brother and sister, Vidan and Daria.[12]
